Yes, fixed thanks to info on the sportster forums. To the best of my knowledge Harley Davidson has not issued any bulletins on this known issue. My dealer did not know about it. They went to Harley Davidson for tech support and they spent a year troubleshooting this problem. I made multiple six hour trips to their shop. Unfortunately, the shop work resulted in chips to the paint on the tank and battery cover. This has not been a pain free ordeal. I hope my post helps prevent the same situation for other forum members.

The thing about efi's is you really don't need to warm them up. You can't adjust the choke it's automatic. When the bike hits it's operating temp. the idol drops by itself. My 07 883 on start up hits 1500 to 1800 rpm's as it warms up it will drop to a 1000. I give mine less than a minute before I ride. I takes up to 4 to 5 minutes before the choke is all the way off. On a cold day it takes even longer. If I shut off the bike for as little 5 minutes it doe's this all over again untill the moter is back to temp. Check out this web site HARLEY-PERFORMANCE.COM. It has some great reads on the efi's. It explaines what the maps do. KEEP IT IN THE WIND, HOLLYWOOD................
