Question about the FI sportsters
#11
If this is true, why don't the other FI bikes do this. It seems to be a 1200 sportster thing. Many seem to be resolved to accept this issue which I find very frustrating. C'mon Harley Davidson, step up to the plate with some tech assistance to fix this. I don't want my bike at the dealer's troubleshooting the riding season away when this appears to be happening on many of the new FI sportsters and there should be a known fix for it.

Charming reply. I don't believe "the whole motorcycle ownership thing" should include acceptance of a defective new bike for which we've invested our hard earned money and time. Sacrificing quality and reliability for the "Harley experience" is a thing of the past. I think HD would be the first to agree.

Through conversations in this forum (some more helpful than others), I learned that Harley Davidson recently released a calibration update. My bike is a stock 2008 1200 Low, so I don't know how it works on a bike with modifications. Many dealerships do not know about this update so you will need to ask them to plug your bike into their computer to see if your calibration is the most current. On my bike, it changed from a code ending in "C" to a "D". They performed a quick download and now the warm up stumble on my bike appears to have been cured!

Seriously, glad to hear they got you and your bike fixed up.
