Default cleaning

i just bought a 2008 Nightster and was wondering what would be best to clean it with. Cleaners and waxes and stuff like that. Any ideas???? Also anyone know if a two up seat off a 1200 Custom 2007 will work on a 2008 Nightster????

What color did you get? You don't want to wax the denim paint. Just mild car soap and water, and wax only the shiny parts. If it's vivid black (shiny), then anything you'd use on your car will be safe for the bike. Yes, the seat will work (I've seen one at the dealership). But if you're planning ontwo-up riding, you'll want to upgrade the rear shocks, fast.

People here are probably getting tired of reading my posts regarding this but my solution is very simple. $1.50 and 4 minutes at the do-it-yourself car wash and it looks like it came off the showroom floor. Don't use the high pressure wand around wheel bearings andinstruments. It's worked for me for years.

I have a vivid black 08 nighty, i use the mcguire's quick detailer and microfiber cloths every few days. Works great and the bike is nice and shiny. Just wish black didn't show all those little scratches so much.

don't be tempted to savy money by using old flannel shirts or other "recycled" rags; get the white polishing clothes from hd; I think there are about 25 in a package, about $5.

Harley Gloss (or S100 if you're Rick James) sprayed onto a new clean microfiber cloth (just until damp)... Wipe lightly... Then go over again to remove any residue... Do not clean the rough surfaces with a microfiber... Just spray on a lil PigSpit... Dab with a Terry cloth to remove stuck on bugs/grime. Do the wipe down before every ride (takes about 5 mins).... Not the Pig Spit (that is only as needed).... Only wet wash the bike when it is REALLY dirty... This process will maintain the finish... probably... forever
