Default EZ Pass -Express Tolls

Is your bike registered with an EZ pass toll system and do you use it and where do you keep it ?

Just wondering as the season is getting underway here in NJ and I start to really ride my NEW BIKE if I need to get an EZ PASS badge for the toll roads ????

Toll roads suck!!! Glad we don't have them here in TN. I went through one while on a recent road trip outta state. What a PAIN!!!Had to get off the bike, take off my glove, unfasten my chaps, just to dig out the stupid 50 cents.

Just to **** everybody off, and show my displeasure with this, I did all of that while in the lane at the toll booth.

No matter where I mount it, hold it or wave it, the toll booth won't register me. I spoke face-to-face with EZ-Pass customer service person and she said as long as my plate is registered don't worry about it not registering going thru the toll booth.

She told me to just keep it in my right pocket of my jacket and just motor thru.

She says "most" motorcyclists have the problem of it not tripping the light and registering.

I wonder why that is. When I forget to take ours out of the glove box in the cage, it picks it up just fine. But yes, you are correct. When they get that nice camera shot of your veh and tag number, the first thing they do is run the tag, then compare owner/veh info with what they have on file.

I don't ride toll roads very often but I have an EZ-Pass registered to the bike. Saves stopping, taking off gloves, digging for money etc. I stick it to the windshield on longer trips or keep it in the shirt pocket. If it doesn't trip the sensor it's no problem, they have a pic of your license tag and they just charge your account, no penalty as long as your tag is registered and you have an active account.

I dig out the change or cash.
Or in the worst case scenario plan ahed and have the passenger carry it.

I hit the ez-pass roads and bridges all the time and was getting frustrated with problems reading my pass. I ended up getting one of these to hold my ez-pass. Very good quality, works great but not cheep... I have seen cheeper plastic ones but did not want it on my bike. [8D]

I use the NJTP and GSP fairly often. When I remember to use the tags they go intool bag tied to the front forks on the Harley and in the fairing on the Triumph. It registers roughly half the time, but as other people have said, if the plate is registered they will charge it with no problems even if you don't carry the tag. With one of my bikes I didn't bother registering the plate and got a bill from EZ pass, I called them and gave them my account number and they cleared up the charges with no problems.
