Before you spend big bucks,
Get a front and rear set of Lyndall Z-Plus brake pads. They are MUCH better than the stock cinter HD pads and they won't leave any brake dust mess either.
whats the difference between the z's and the golds ?
Well, I got some useful info over on the XLForum: Barnett Clutches make the rear line, and Magnum Shielding makes the dual front lines. I also got a pair of red spark plug wires since I was in the spending mood.
I thought my Iron had the most frightening brakes, or lack there of, of any motorbike i'd ever ridden. Fortunately with the Iron and 48 there is an off the shelf answer from Harley themselves, by way of fitting the front caliper from a XR1200. The difference is staggering and quite why the MoCo didnt fit these from the factory is beyond me.

Did you use the stock brake line with that caliper? What did you feel with those calipers, was it quicker response, spongy feeling gone, faster stop? Been wanting to upgrade the front brake also and wanted to go the dual disk/caliper route, but your setup may be just as good.

Where did you get that caliper? Is there a part number that you can give me? I tried looking it up on the HD website and had trouble finding it.
