Skygoose - can you post pictures of what the kit looks like?

I run red lenses on the back end of my XL1200C... they look just fine to me. BTW, the turn signals on the back end of my Wrangler are also red. I never thought about the color until this thread.

Rusty, let me get my camera out and I'll post some pictures. If you mean what the kit looks like it's just a module with two pigtails, two red lenses, some nylon zip ties packaged in a HD blister pack with the instruction sheet. HD part number is 69463-06 for a 2005 1200C Sportster.

Rusty: I hope this works. It's the first time I've uploaded to this forum. Thepicture on the left shows the appearance of the rear of the bike with the red turn signals; no difference except for the color of the lenses. The picture on the right shows where the module is installed under the seat. You can't see the module itself because it is tucked under the ignition module One of the pigtail connections is at about 6 o'clock in the picture. I hope this helps. I'm new at this.

My point was that the Fed. Regs seta "minimum", but that states can be more stringent with regulations, like CA with their emissions regulations. Yes, the federal regs allow red or yellow(amber)on the rear and only yellow(amber) on the front according to the FMSS's federal lighting requirements. But some states get more technical, like PA with certain lighting requirements that I did not see on any of the federal regulation sights..............http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/06.../s175.146.html

Jeeesh.
