HD Quick detach, easy on, easy off with no hardware left behind. Can order for about $269 from www.zanottimotor.com

This has come up many times and though you'll likely get some responses and other suggestions if you do a search there are tons of posts to read as well.

Good luck & welcome to HDF

Quick-Release Detachable Compact Windshield - Standard-Height

Combine the classic Harley-Davidson® windshield shape with a revolutionary new attachment system, and you have the best of style and function. The windshield mounts to the fork tubes with elegant die-cast lever-release clamps, so the windshield does not require any "leave-behind" docking hardware. You get quick on-and-off convenience, and a clean, custom look. No tools are required, and the kit includes everything needed to install the windshield. The tough, hard-coated polycarbonate windshield features traditional chrome horizontal and vertical braces. Patented.

Fits '88-later XL and '91-'05 Dyna® models (except FXDWG and FXDXT). Windshield dimensions: Overall height 26.8"; height above headlamp 18.3", width 19.7".

I have the H-D Quick-Detach windshield and bought it to keep the cold blast off my chest on either end of my normal riding season. It does a great job and extends my riding season by 6-8 weeks with no ugly hardware remaining when I'm not using it. In the early Spring riding season, it also has the added benefit of keeping the bugs off me - and you don't realize how many you hit until you see them splayed out on a windshield!

I have the Detachable, standard height windshield...not the quick release... but I dont care that the "hardware" stays on the forks.

Quick-Release Detachable Compact Windshield - Standard-Height

I have a smoked one. Looks great. But: if you plan on riding hundreds of miles at a crack, a lot, then I would recommend a National Cycle 2-up. It can also be quick-release, but does leave hardware attached to the fork legs. I put one of them on my wife's Suzuki C50 (motorized beach cruiser). The coverage is fabulous, and if you needed that kind of coverage but wanted to swap, you could get one of their smaller ones as well, and switch them out.

Both are good quality.
