Default My home made Bobber

http://s285.photobucket.com/albums/ll48/bmerck/Bobber/

Thought I would share my winter project. My son and I did this in about 3 months in a 10X10 shed. Not to mention we did it all......Ithink sportsters are so cool. When I started this in my head I knew it had to be a sportie. I traded a perfect4X4 ATV for a perfect 2005 1200R in pearl yellow. Got it home and started to cut, chop every thing we could. I painted the front forks gloss black, the tins are done in dark cherry with sparkles (purchased at the local craft store) and finished in clear coat,(all rattle cans)wet sanded and buffed. My son did all the cutting and wiring through the bars. I made the seat pan and my son re-located the choke to under the seat. He used all the stock choke parts except the cable. I put a 21' wheel in the front. The only thing I want to do now is paint the side covers to match the tank and fender. Im going to start this tonight, they look like crap with the stock black. The best part about this whole projectwasworking with my son, we had a great time. I've had it out a few times and Im having a ball. This is so much fun to ride. It wont replace my Electra Glide, but man is it fun.
