Default Have I done the right thing....Rain.

I'm unsure if I have done the right thing. Yesterday I got home very late and left my bike outside without its cover on, thinking it wasn't going to rain, to my surprise I woke up today, looked out the window and saw it was raining damn hard. when it kind of stopped raining I ran out, semi-wiped it dry and covered it but now that I think about it I'm not sure if its better to let it get wet and when the rain stops completely I should dry it and cover it, or if what I just did (cover it while wet) and wash it tomorrow is better.

Is covering a bike while humid or wet ok? or should I run outside and take the cover off?

Also; Should I wash my bike after rain gets it wet, even if I didn't ride.

The rain should not hurt it at all, however, you should pull the cover offas soon as it stops and dry her off real good.

So far, you will be able to claim that it has never been ridden in the rain.

Well if you live in an area like I do, I'd have done nothing until I could wash it and then dry it. Around here, it rains mud. Drying it off from rain water could really scratch it up. My neighbor leaves his Glide out in the rain all the time.

Owning a Harley can sure induce a little paranoia in all of us - LOL!

Mine has sat out in pouring rain, covered and uncovered, been ridden through steady rain for hours on end, and sometimes I hose it off afterwards with a little Simple Green and wipe it down. Sometimes I don't. I'm not real good when it comes to keeping the bike in showroom condition because I HATE cleaning it![:'(] I really have to develop a better attitude about that.[]

Rain won't hurt the bike at all, but eglidebob gives you good advice to keep the rust gremlins away...

Except for the sitting in rain covered my bike has been threw the same stuff. I too hate cleaning it, I just see it as wasted riding.
