Progressive spring problem 'defferent lengths'

UPDATE... Progressive spring problem 'defferent lengths'
UPDATE......I'm installing standard springs not the lowering kit.
I called Progressive tech line yesterday, and talked to Justin. I was a bit dishonest with him. I made it sound like I had not bought them yet, just to be sure to get a straight answer. He said they should be the same length but somtimes they can be off by as much as 1/4". He said any thing over that would be over ther tolerance level, and then I should send them back.
I went out and did a exact measure on my springs and it's 1/8" deference. So I guess that part is o.k. He did say to be sure that both spacers sticks up the same and for me at 190 lbs I should cut about 3/8" to 1/2" off the spacer or it could ride a bit stiff.
As for the oil, he said put in standard 15w oil. He said if I don't want to take the forks off the trees {which I don't} then try to get the forks as level as I can with the front wheel on the floor fully compressed with out the springs in it. Fill it up to 5 1/2" from the top. Then raise the front back off the floor so it's completely extended and then put the new springsthen the washerand the spacers and reinstall the fork caps.
So I will try it the Progressive way. If winter ever comes to a end in Michigan, I will get back and let you guys know how this worked out...
Thanks to all, for your advice...
Gary.
