You could always just get a cheap round LED tail light like you'd use on a Jeep, and just find a way to mount in in the hole, flush with the fender. It wouldn't have to face directly back to be highly visible, LED's are bright. Here's some examples of what I mean. The first one would be pretty cheap and I think would look sick. The second one are ORO LiteDots, I have them on my Jeep. They only come in a pair and have an integrated back up light, so they wouldn't be good for a bike, but I included a pic of them to show that you can have an all blacked out light if you want that still lights up nice with the brakes on.

I really like the *idea* of the Kuryakyn Panacea integrated tail light assembly, but I wonder if it's too busy. Cool idea, though.

I was wondering if anyone had links or pic's for replacement tail lights. I'm trying to clean up my rear fender and that large tail light needs to go. I still want to keep the same location tho. I modded the rear plate holder to the shock and drilled a minnie LED spot light into the tail light and it lights the plate. So I really don't want to mess with the wiring again. Thanks!

"Edited In" I wanna stay away from, skulls, Maltese, Coffins, etc.. That stuff may have spiked my interest 30 years ago, lol, But now I want to keep (and make) things smoother.

Thanks for the link Joseph, Its just not my style tho.

Dang Gringo, thats a helluva great idea. Maybe next winter when I strip it down to the frame. My brother in law has something like them on his Jeep. They are not LED's tho. I wonder if he'll miss one if I take it to test out the sizing. lol.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. Please keep them coming. All ideas will be considered or they make other ideas come to light.

Buy another fender (mostly because the days of Spring are just around the corner and you can play with it all you want without having "down time") then flush mount something. I kicked off my tail light assembly, welded up a filler, smoothed it all out and went with a side mount kit. I know that's not what you want, but with a second piece of sheet metal (and I'm sure you can get one cheap off of a wreck or someone that swapped out for a bobber-style fender) you can get imaginative!!!

I am a big fan of staying with factory Harley parts, not that there is anything wrong with aftermarket. But why not buy a used set off a newer bike and make them fit on your? that way you keep the stock look but at the same time get rid of the huge lights. Although some people like the older stuff, my buddy almost shed a tear when I told him the 04 and up ham can fits on his 03 Anniversary, and that he should swap it out. haha to each his own.

Go with stock Nightster parts......

Rear fender, turns and license bracket with license light....It's all there and made by HD.

the bikes too narrow for the fender, But I'd do stock 04 and up chrome signals and then mill the ends flat to work with his bike

I have a laydown smoked LED tail with blacked out sides, you are right it still would have the plate light but it looks cool to me. If you got a blacked out sided laydown you could just blackout the
platelight with paint. Others here have done it and it works well.

These are old pics the rear lens on the turns are red now.
