I am 6'3" 235lbs. My 1200C hauls me around fine. I haven't taken it on a long trip yet but I can see already that I am going to have a hard time staying comfortable. But hey isn't that a sporty regaurdless of your size. It is not a bike built for comfort. People tell me it is too small for me. I tell them I love riding a motor that has a seat on it. The bike is all motor not much else there no room for anything else. I love my bike and would have a hard time trading it straight up for a Dyna or anything else.

get what you want and screw everyone else. Just make sure you take it for a ride first and enjoy the bike.

 

You defiantly will need forward controls like the Custom. Add a good seat like a Mustang or a Sundowner and have fun. I had a 2000 black 1200-C and this last November I got a 06 black 1200-C. So as you can tell, I love the Sportster, and never have felt like I needed to move up, like some of the guys said I would. But I'm 5' 10" 190 lbs. If the bike fits you, and thats what you want, then buy what makes YOU happy...

The dealer told me the same thing, and who know I may trade up in a year or so. However when I told him the 1200C they provided me with every bit of information I asked for. If you can't find someone down south come up to St. Augustine, and try HD of St. Augustine they will have no problem selling you a sporty. Good luck, and welcome.

 

Hey, I'm 6' 4" and go about 270. I would love to have a Nightster sitting along side of my Springer Classic. Heck, I remember when riding a Honda 305cc Scramber gave me a woodie back in the 60's and I was just as big (heigth at any rate) then!Ride what you want.
