Just be careful at the car wash to avoid the use of high pressure spraying around the axles (not good for the wheel bearings), instruments and handlebar switches. Don't worry about the seat. Hell, it's going to get wet the first time you get caught in the rain.

Do you keep you bike outside?
It is important to me to keep my bike clean, washed and polished.
I usually give it a quick wash it once a week and detail once a month.
At the least, I'd be looking for a spot where I could hook up a Mr. Clean and Cycle Dry.
No bucket just a wash mitt, some dry towels and an outlet.
If you want to detail your bike you need to find a place you can polish and wax it?
Usually takes me 'bout 4 hours.

When I wash the bike, I usually use the car wash. I wet the bike down with low pressure, then use the foam brush. As was said, just avoid the high pressure in those "sensitive" areas. And once summer rolls around, look for the bikini bike washs in your area. That's ALWAYSa good way to get the bike washed. Kick back, drink a cold one, and watch a couple of chicks in bikini's wash your bike. Usually costs $10, plus the beer cost of course. [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

"Wash the bike"? What does that mean? LOL. I'm so bad about that. I usually just get a wet rag, and sometimes a dry rag if I'm worried about water spots.
I think I'll try low pressue at the car wash one of these days. Any concerns about the fuel line, spark plugs, axles, etc?

RE: Stupid Question. I apologize in Advance.
About the only thing I use the high pressure wash for is the tires and wheels, on a motorcycle. Everything else is nice and gentle. And if you just absolutely HAVE to use that brush, be sure it's soft, and wash it before touching it to your paint. I would usually take one of the wife's "disposable" wash rags with me for that. (I'm sure glad she doesn't read these.)
