Hello all. New to the forum and new to the bike. Just got a 2001 XL1200S. I'm having a blast when it gets to be 40 or above around here (Dayton, OH). Otherwise, I'm spending time working on small customization projects. Fun also. I was wondering--why is the 1200S model missing from the forum header?

 

It's an obvious act of discrimination waged against "S" owners, and I think a class action lawsuit is in order..

Welcome from a fellow S owner. Did you get your bike in stock form, or has anything been done to it? After you ride it for a bit (if it's stock) make sure to toss on a nice 2-1 exhaust, and a good A/C...get some good flow going, and then pop in a SE ignition module to bump up the rev limiter :-)

 

Maybe we can work out a deal for your fuel tank. I was shopping for an "R" when I found my 01. Fell hard for the Sport but I'd have a Roadster if a dealer around here would have had one is stock. I sawa Roadsterfor the first time last week at aCincinnati dealership (I live in Dayton). What a great looking bike. And, I bet you can actually use your mirrors!

 

i can see well out of both...the bars are wide and it was easy to get used to asi spent many years on mx bikes. my friendalso has an s model and i cant get over how nice the stock suspension is ,its too bad its not offered on the other models
