Default which bike ?

I plan to puchase a new bike within the next year or so . As most of you are experienced riders , which sporster moel would you recomend to a newbie . I plan to keep the bike for awhile and want one I will be happy with after I become more experienced . I was leaning towar an 883 but think I will outgrow it after a few years . Would the 1200 be better or should I look toward the Dyna Glides or am I just looking for trouble . I am a male at 5' 10' and 150 lbs and plan to spend most of riding on backroads and main roads with little highway riding . I passed the riders couse and learned so much from . Makes me wonder why I waited so long to get the rides bug .

For what you plan on doing, either the 883 or the 1200 will do just fine. However, if you ever think you might get into long road trips, you might want to consider a Dyna or Softail. If you carry a lot of gear, the bigger bikes are a little more convenient. Like someone on this forum said, buy your second bike first.

Howdy, same advice as above. Try to think ahead a little as to what you might end up doing and maybe the bigger bike should be bought now not later. Just my opinion.

I have an '05 XL1200C, put all progressive suspension on it, bunch more chrome, voltmeter and oil pressure guages, braided cables, saddlebaggs, and a touring seat.
This bike is a gas to ride, and very roadworthy. The next bike will be a used Dyna sport, but the Sporty stays.

Go check them all out.
If you're thing you will out grow a Sporty... don't buy 1.
You will only be prolonging the inevitable!
