I just looked and Yuasa makes a gel battery for the Sportster:
YTX14L-BS
Good, I'll have to check that out once this battery decides to quit......It's only eight years old though...Yep, still running the original battery & no it's never been on a tender nor jumped.

I just put a Yuasa (came in a Drag Specialties box but the paper work with itsaid it was a Yuasa)battery in my 2000 a couple of weeks ago and it fit perfect and it is a gell battery just like the original.
Thatwas the first battery Iput in that bike, the original battery lasted 8 years and my wifes bike is 5 years old and hers is still works fine, so the stock Harley batteries must be pretty good quality.

Interstate makes batteries for Sportsters.....replaced with one couple months ago. A few dollars saved from not buying HD.
YUASA Owns interstate, they are all made by YUASA

Quite possible. Look at the chit HD was building in 1980. I'd be riding a rice burner. And so would we all. HD wouldn't exist anymore.
