I know you can get the Screamin' Eagle Slip ons (what I have) and the Rush Slip ons (which are louder) without doing the remap.

RE: questions on nightster exhaust
I initially installed Rush 2" baffled slip-ons and the bike ran fine without any fuel injection mods. However, when I made the move up to 2 1/4" baffles, I alsoinstalled the Stage 1 which made it necessary to install a H-D tuner as well. I must say, the bike does move quite nicely.

RE: questions on nightster exhaust
Just installed a set of Rinehart slip-ons onto the wifes Nightster. The sound is awesome. It's almost too loud in my opinion but then again it's not my ride. So far we have only installed the exhaust but we did buy a HD stage 1 air kit and V&H FuelPak that will be installed this weekend. The pipes alone sound great.

Here's the thing about warranties. Federal law has over-riding control. Some states give you even more rights.
1. HD can refuse to honor a warranty claim if the part has been modified.
2. HD can refuse to honor a warranty claim if the part was damaged by a modification, even on another part.
3. HD CANNOT refuse to honor a warranty claim because you modified ANY part - they have to link damage to a mod.
If you mod the mufflers, then HD can void the muffler warranty. If the muffler mod damages another bike part (like catches on fire or something) then HD can refuse to fix that as well. If the speedo fails, they'd have to prove that the muffler mod broke the speedo. HD and other companiesgot their t*t in a wringer for things like insisting you had to use moco oil, and filters or you'd lose coverage. The courts whipped their a$$!!!
Modding a muffler has unpredictable results. You'd be better off with aftermarket parts. There are lots of choices. For a cheap change, try Cycle Shack.
Last, only need fuel changes with air changes, at least when it comes to mufflers. Some radical pipe changes, like going to shorts should also look at fuel changes.

Found this thread while searcing for exhaust mods...just thought i'd bump it for another question...
Will ANY airflow changes need a reprogram on a FI bike? Even just a 'drop in' K&N, or are we only talking about the bigger ram air or cone style intakes needing a reprogram?
Was also wondering what exhaust the OP eventually went with and how he likes it?
