Dyno Tune or DIY? Your opinions or experiences?
Hey all
I just wanted to start a thread out there, since a lot of us are DIYers, etc, but I just wondered how many prefer running on a dyno, have had it done and their experiences as preferred to do-it yourself tuning at home. Would love to hear some peoples opinions or experiences. Thanks

I tune myself first, then take it to the dyno to confirm everything is done properly. Usually, it will be pretty close and anything not right I can fine tune afterwards. The baseline to get the power output and AFR costs me $45. That comes out cheaper than $150-200 in tuning.

In my opinion, with what I know about the ability to tune a motor, I figure there won't be too much more that I can improve on by a dyno. I'd rather keep the money in my pocket. Best way to know if you are in the ball park of a dyno tune is to compare it's performance against yours.
