I'm sure any one of them would work ok. They look easy enough to make if you had the time, knowhow, and tools to do so.

Yeah, the $30 job looks home made, and I dont see how it keeps itself in place except by the tightness of the bolt, as opposed to the stops apparent on the molded model. I could probably fab a bracket also, but this seems like a high stress item so, I am thinking the extra bucks may beworth it on this one. I usually am a cheapskate but my gut is telling me otherwise on this one. So, I am thinking, becauseI want a softer ride, not lower or higher, that I will put 13 inchers on (current 11.5 stock) with the lowering kit and that will give more travel, same height. Just to check, I have my preload on the lightest setting now, that should give me the least amout of bumps possible right? more preload, harder ride, right? ( I am a tall skinny guy)

The lowest amount of preload will give you a cushy ride as long as your weight isn't too much for that soft setting. If you are bottoming out on the softest preload setting, you may wanna bump the preload up a notch. Just takes a little trial and error.

Interesting, I thought the shocks would bottom out the same time regardless of the pre load, except you get a firmer ride with more load. Not true? So, I am wondering if bottoming out is my problem. Even though I only weigh 170, whenI hit a sharp bump at high speed, it hit the *** hard but tire doesn't hit fender. All other conditions are fine. I thought "bottoming" would be rubbing tire in the fender. Do the shocks stop and botom first? If so, it seems I should try pushing up the preload first.

My biggest question is this...

Can my already low... 883LOW be lowered any lower????
I looked in HD catalogs and every lowering kit I see is for 883C or 883....... I am starting to think the 883LOW ALREADY has it as low as it can go.. that is why it is called the 883L??? Am I correct? If so..

I will need to sell this baby and get something I can lower because my feet WILL NOT sit flat on the ground.. even with my NEW SEAT.. shaved! I don't feel like I can handle this bike without my fet flat on the ground.. I am only 5ft tall and 115 lbs.

HELP!!!!! Lisa

I'm certain your bike did not come with these brackets.....You can very easily lower the front an inch also, just loosen the fork clamps-slide the forks up an inch and retighten clamps.....I've got a friend's 2003 1200c in my shop now that has the rear brackets installed and the front forks lowered 2".....the bike has been that way over 5 thousand safe miles.....his only problem is it stands up too straight when on kickstand, but I'm gonna fix it.
