Nightster advice

RE: Nightster advice
First everyone thanks for the quick feedback. Perch I responded to your PM. Thanks for taking the time to send the pictures. It definitely sounds like the Nightster will do just fine for my needs. I've been staring at Nightster pictures and reading all the literature for a few months now. today I finally got to the dealer. I'm definitely going to call Monday and confirm the deal. The advice on the pegs, etc are things I thought I would need to do anyway. My concern about the ability to carry something was due to the rear light license plate mount but it seems it can be done. I'll let you all know Monday when the deals a deal. Drinks on me to celebrate. Again thanks to everyone. I look forward to becoming an active member of the forum and a Nightster rider. Will I miss my UJM? doubtful! Dan

I rode 2 up on my nightster to the beach one day and back the next, total of about 400 miles, and the stock seat seemed fine, the only problem I had was that my left leg fell asleep every 50 or sixty miles, I am positive this is due to the mid controls and having to leave my leg in the same position for so long, I am 99 percent sure highway pegs will solve this problem, I am looking into getting some now.
Perch, what kind of highway pegs do you have on yours??????????????

RE: Nightster advice
I wanted to get back to everyone about my Nightster purchase. The one I had a deal on caused me concern. It was a 2007, 900 miles with stage 1 and V& H pipes. I really did not want a modified bike so I let the deal go. Anyway, today I decided to go buy it but first stopped in the Harley store. The used one was at the store's remote used bike center. I find out the used one just sold but Harley is having a $1000 off promotion so I bought a new silver/black Nightster. the deal was quite good and only a few bucks more then the used model. I would not have made this decision without everyone's feedback, it is appreciated. The test ride was awsome. Expect to have it home in a week or so. Tonight around 7pm I'm planning to have a drink to celebrate. Please join me! Thanks again for the advice. Dan

Yo Dan, on the Nightster, 5'6" is tall. That bike was made for guys like us. I looked at a bunch of other bikes. Once I sat on the Nightster no other bike came close for fit and looks. Mine comes home Friday. I hope the weather is clear for riding. I can handle the cold. Ride safe, Dan

RE: Nightster advice
congrats on the new bike. It is a fun ride, although I am one of those who needs to replace the stock seat. I can only get about 25 miles before my tailbone starts hurting. The windshield will probably be next, although, if you stay off the interstates, the buffeting isn't all that bad, unless you like going that fast. Geez, I'm turning into an old man....
