Welcome. What's your budget? Trying to buy what you can afford or what you want? I'd pass on this on though.

 

Chances are if it isn't cosemtically kept it isn't mechanically kept either.
I'd keep looking

I got my 98 with 3000 miles for 4200 and it was in perfecto shape.

 

too much... 2.5k max IMO. I wouldnt even buy it for that to be truthful. I am a 1200 fan tho so...

sporties are always in the 4-5.5 range for 1200's, get a 1200 !!!!

I prefer rubber mounted, you may want an original one tho', HD bikes should be pristine, people either love them or know they cannot afford to have the $$$$ tied up any longer and it is going to end up going down the road, so they let them go before they are gone, ya dig? =))))

 

last fall I bought an 04 1200 modded to the hilt for 5.5k with 5k miles

have a good friend who knows their chit about bikes inspect it. i wouldnt pay 3k. maybe around 2.5 if your guy tells you the bike is good mechanically, take it. that bikes only got 1000 more miles than mine, and mine is all stock from 1988

 

Welcome to the forum. I see that you are from LA, don't know which part, but I just did a quick look on www.craigslist.com for Louisiana, New Orleans and found a few attractive offers for 883 and 1200. Have you looked at hdtrader and cycletrader?

I agree with the majority of the posts, newer HD out there for better deal.

 

There are a lot of good deals out there, shop around for a newer one, as for the Honda Shadow, I've been there and the Sportster is twice the bike as the Shadow.

 

Welcome to the forum. I'd try to find a newer model even if it cost more. Doesn't seem like it but a '93 is 15 years old.
