Use the friction zone of the clutch more. That way when you hit a bump, or go around a cornerandaccelerate out of it you won't be subjected to the sensitivity of the throttle as much. Of course, this all takes practice, too. Come to think of it, in slow moving rush hour traffic, spending a lot of time on the clutch requires a bit of stamina, too! The newer models have considerably more "reduced effort" to work the clutch, but it's still tiring after a while. The point is to find the clutch's "sweet spot", where the clutch is just barely engaged, but disengaged enough to where you can freely rev the motor without the bike lurching forward. But don't worry about that too much. The last thing you need is to be overloaded with information and different techniques. The previous advice is good, just relax and practice. The more you practice, the more you will get to know your bike. The more you know your bike, the better you will become. The better you become, the more you will ride! Just take your time and don't rush anything.

Suggestion: Get the Ride Like a Pro IV DVD. It will help you a lot. Just Google, "ride like a pro" and you should be able to find it.

Thanks for the positives! 'Practiced' (rode my happy little heart out ) all weekend--worked with my sweet spot and zippy throttle--oh my goodness, it's just too good! I didn't mind starting the work week, except for getting in the car to get there! And I've seen the first twoRide Like a Pro DVDs--excellent. I have the bug--dreaming of motorcycles--want to learn and ride all I can. Thanks again!
