Default Cleaning a K&N Air Filter

I know what the official website for K&N filters say for cleaning their filters. I was wondering if this is the only safe way of cleaning the filter. I have it in my hyper charger.

One more question. How am I able to tell if the carbs were rejetted when the hyper charger was added?

Yes, only use K&N cleaner and oil....it's better than other crap anyways. Rinse it well from the inside out, and let it dry completely. And don't over-oil it or it'll suck that crap into your carb.

The number 1 problem with people servicing K&N's is over oiling like mentioned above. If you over oil it you suck gunk into the carb and can have drips come out of the filter cover and ooze all over the bike, the floor, etc. I've been using them in cars and trucks for years and I like to spray on one light coat and walk away for 15 minutes. That stuff really sucks up the oil and it will expand to cover most of the filter in a few minutes. When you come back, just do a light touch up on the gray spots.

As for jets, the only way to tell is to pull them out of the carb and look at the numbers on them. The jets should have a number stamped into them either on the top or side. That number will correspond to the diameter opening in fractions of an inch.

Thank you very much. What jets should I have in the carbs?
