Interesting feedback on seats. I didn't realize there was such support for stock seats. The problem with the seat on the 833L was that HD cut out a lot of the foam to achieve the lower seat height compared to the custom or regular sportster seat. I like where Mean City uses data from your height, weight, and motorcycle model to shape the seat for you with a higher quality foam. I've had the stock, tallboy, and Danny Gray Seats on my motorcycle and the DG it the best of the bunch with minimal break in time. I believe that investment in a seat that puts you in the best most comfortable riding positionFOR YOU is one of the best investments you can make since itis where the majority of your body weight connects to the motorcycle. If you fit in the size range that HD designs its motorcycles for then you may be happy with your stock seat. FOR ME, I think that HD makes mostof thier motorcycles on the smallish side with the only comfortable stock riding position is on the WG.

Don't ask me...I suffer from Gluteous Redneckabutkus.

You definitely need extra padding in your seat if you ain't got none in yourbutt!

Eh, I actually like the feel and look of the stock seat, but that's just me.

Congrats on the long ride, nice to have a riding partner.

Cool windshield, by the way.

Like that windshield.

I am also not crazy about the stock seat, but I am going to give it the first 1000 miles before I do anything with it. Ride safe.

I have the Mustang Solo...never could get used to a stock solo seat, but then my tailbone has been cracked a few times and now it hurts most of the time, even with the Mustang seat, guess arthritis has set in...so no matter what it hurts!! Anyways you will find the right seat out there!!

Congratulations to your wife and the long ride. Trust me or trust my wife as she hated the stock seat too. She rode it out for almost 1500 miles and it had to go. We got the reach solo seat and the passenger pallion, as that was a different look she wanted. She really likes the reach seat, she can change her bike out now with this set up. As others have said you will enjoy both you riding your own. I have really enjoyed all the rides with the wife. Oh Good looking bike, like that windshield, too.

1200 miles and I'm still on the fence with regard to my stock seat.
I think that changing the shock settings or shocks themselves&nbsp\\;will do the trick for me as I have been putting 50 miles on her each day, and the pothole repairs&nbsp\\;on the local parkways are done real poorly.

Wow, I was a little suprised to see this thread come back around.&nbsp\\; Ended up getting the Mustang vintage solo.&nbsp\\; A well designed comfortable seat.&nbsp\\; The thing weighs about twice as much as the stock low seat.&nbsp\\; It was so nice I got one for a solo seat on my Dyna.
