Peg/pipe scraping?

Peg/pipe scraping?
Ok, so I'm picking up my Nightster on Tuesday- my trade went through, they are giving me what I wanted, blah blah blah...
I was thumbing through this forum for pictures and insight as to what the hell I'm getting into and I keep seeing little blips about people scraping there pegs or pipes on turns. This is starting to frighten me a bit because I am switching from a sportbike that I ride aggresively to the Nightster.
Any advice? Input? Oppinions?

RE: Peg/pipe scraping?
it probably will scrape. there is always a comprimise between looks and performance, and the sportster is a performer, but the nightster is a looker. accept it or change exhuast. Vance & Hines SSR2 is a really cool system, lots of clearance, and they look good.
Might be better for the cafe racer types though.

I have a tall adventure / sport bike and a sportster. The Sportster has a lot more clearance than other cruisers, like the Harley touring bikes but hard parts will scrape if you try and corner as aggressively as your sport bike. Even without scraping you are going to find that the Sporty is not going to handle as well as they typical sport bike. You need to decide what kind of experience you are looking for, you'll have fun with the sportster, but its definitely different from a sport bike.

You're gonna grind like crazy. I'm also a sport bike rider.I have 13.5 " heavy shocks and progressive fork springs and I drag hard parts pretty easily. You're a couple ( or more) inches lower than that, so you'll have take it slow! fitting higher pipes just means you'll drag something else, unfortunately.
