New Harley owner
Hello everyone from the great state of Michigan, I just bought my first Harley. It is a 2006 Sportster 1200L with only 630 miles on it. It is the two tone white and black all stock except for forward controls and an alarm system. I got it for $6,050. What do you think? Did I get a good deal or not? I already bought a Mustang seat for it and am looking for a windshield and sissy bar. Any good suggestions for these items. Anything special with these bikes that i should be concerned about. It still has a warranty until the end of September 08. The bike will be ridden mostly by my 19 year old son as we just sold his Honda Shadow 750. I currently have a Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 for the wife and I to ride 2-up. Cant wait to get the Harley out for a spin.

Congrats. That sounds like a good deal to me. Look through the pictures, they will give you tons of idea. I've got ideas for the bike I'm GOING to buy, I don't even own it yet and because of this forum I've already started to plan out pipes, air cleaner, performance stages, etc.

Ya got a good deal on the Sportster. For the windshield and sissy bar, I would recommend the detachables. The side plates on the sissy bar make it easy to remove...likewise the Harley quick detach windshield. I'm not a fan of either when riding alone, but when riding two up with the wife it's great.
