Default These don't look too bad...

For saddlebags, anyway. I bought them at the Nashville Bike Show for $69.00 from D&L House of Leather (www.houseofleather.com).

They are small (10" deep, 12"across at the bottom) but large enough to easily swallow my heaviest leather jacket. The cool thing about them is they ride Forward of the shocks and fit quite nicely, they don't stick out like a sore thumb. The front of the bag sits right above the passenger foot peg. There is 1" of clearance between the bottom of the bag and exhaust pipes, I assume that's enough to prevent burn through? Also, I'm probably being paranoid, but I've hardly seen any other bikes with their bags riding this far forward, is there a good reason why? Thanks.

Awesome looking bike, but not sure I like the looks of the bags on it.

Just my 2 pennies.

I know, I don't like 'em either, but if I want to make it from Nashville to the West coast or any other good distance I'm gonna need something like these that will attach to a solo seat and a T-Bag to ride on my solo rack. They are strictly for road trips only.

I'm not a fan of bags but like you said those kind of blend in. Those would probably be my choice if I didn't have a passenger. When I trip I just stuff everything in a T-Bag, doesn't fit I don't need it that bad.

Is it uncomfortable riding with your bags that far forward? I never seen any bike with the bags that far in front.

No, it feels about the same as when my wife's feet are on the passenger pegs. If we were riding two up of course the bags would be sitting further back behind her legs in the traditional style.

I hate bags but I must say they fit well on your Nightster.

I think yours look just fine.

Who cares if some people don't like them on a Sportie, they are removable, right? I'd rather be able to jump on the bike when I need to run some errands than to have to take the cage because the bike didn't have any storage. There is nothing Fun or Cool about being in a cage.

I can't tell from the pic's if there is any clearance between the bags and the Oil & Battery covers. If there isn't, you might want to watch that they don't scuff the paint.

I just bought a set of throwover bags for my custom from River Road. They arent the biggest but they will work for an overnight trip. I modified them a bit by supergluing a 4" x 10" strip of black foam rubber on the backside to keep them from scuffing up any paint or chrome surface.
