You Guys Are Too Sensitve About Your Sporsters
First thing.......I love my Sporster....BUT
Lets face it. It is an entry level bike.If not a Sporster and you had to name a model than which one? Its the lightest, cheapest, smallest, and handles with ease. I bet most new riding first Harley owners buy Sporsters. Hence the entry level tag? This does not mean you can't ride them fast or agressively and blow by larger bikes. I originally bought my Sporster for my wife which was her first bike. She gets mad at me all the time because I am always taking her bike out. Bottom line its a damn fast, nimble, fun riding bike.

Well Mandog,
I have been riding since I was 4 years old and I am now 33. I have had every bike under the sun except a ducati. When I went to the local Harley dealership and expressed my interest, the first thing they did was shove a credit app in my hand. I filled it out and 30 minutes later I was told I could have any bike in the showroom.
I went in to look at a sportster and price or level had nothing to do with it. I really like the night trains, so I sat on one. I still like them, but the sportster had a better feel to me. May have been because I am used to riding sportbikes for most of my life, but it just fit me.
So when people say "He just bought a sportster so he could say he owned a harley and could not afford anything else." That is certainly not true in my case. I could have afforded anything they had in there, but I chose a sportster and I have no regrets.

As long as nobody is bashing an individual, I don't see a problem with these threads. If they rub you wrong and don't entertain you at least a bit, you can simply choose not to read them. I don't see why one should be locked as long as people are being civil.

It seems everyone (most) wants to be a bad *** biker, from stem to stern. Do you know a hard core biker? He could give a rats *** what you ride, so long as you ride and have his back. There's something about a brotherhood that's getting lost in these threads. This is a broterhood, not like we're all driving a VW Bug, but a very small percentage of people that love the wind and freedom. Opinions are like A**Holes. we all gotem. Now go out and ride. Get off the computer. Cold out, well then go wax some chrome.
