RE: newest mod "dipstick knife"
I wish I could claim the fame on creativity but they make these canned for softails and dynas, Clutch66 showed where he had made one himself and saved the 100 bux they are asking for them. They dont make them for sportys period so if ya want one you have to DIY. Its very secure, it wont be falling out of the cap, its stainless steel on the blade and its fairly thick I think its just fine especialy for an oil indicator...andI alsoground the high low mark in the blade this afternoon. I dont know if that makes it legal or not but I dont have run ins with the law and I certainly would never bring a knife to a gunfight
Thanks for the nice replies. I half expected to hear some crap about what I would need it for and how I was a huligan(sic) [8D]

x2, you are my kind of freak. That is the kind of mod that just rides around in your head and no one else ever knows what you are smiling about as you stare at the oil tank. An oil temp dipstick is actually a rather practical, but less personal mod. I do appreciate your talent wiyh the steel and creativity. This is why I am posting on Valentines day, and you are mixing steel epoxy! Have fun.

RE: newest mod "dipstick knife"
Great idea. I can visualize creative shapes fordifferent requirements, or to be less obvious. I'm going to see how long I can make mine. We always need to think of personal protection. I have a concealed handgun carry permit andcan't express the confidence it provides. Thiswould be an excellent backup when not packing heat. Well done.

I searched that site... Nothing, can you show me a link to the knives

Santiago chopper has had those for years, although, you can do it cheaper, and yes, I have seen them for sportsters on their site too. I almost got one but I don't like the "handle" they used, I like yours much better.

x2lee, my mistake, it was Nick Gale Custom Cycles. I know santiago had them years ago, I remember looking at them and wanting one. Sorry for the confusion.
