what is the sound difference between to two? not wanting to go deaf, just want a nice deep sound. are the slipons enough?

 

Well i never heard them side by side but i think my VHslipons sound great. After some riding they get some carbon build up and get even better. 061200C. I dont think they are too loud,the O/L and myself have no problem talking while riding. I dont know if that a good thing or not.
I believe that SE's are quieter.

 

i definately need louder then. ha i am just tired of the factory sound. not near enough. slipons going to be a big differnce? did you have to rejet and all that stuff?

 

go with the short shots BUT get them with the quite baffles prefitted.
They are deep and loud.

 

Don't get me wrong they are much louder than the sewing machine (stock) ones, but not so loud that you cant hear anything else, I've riddin with some guys that give me headaches when your on the wrong side. You don't have to rejet, but ya' never know, the bike will let you know if its running lean,popping and such, changing jets is not hard if your handy at all,they run around 7-8 bucks each at the dealer. Do some air filter improvments and you will need to for optimum performance,and proper air/fuel mix. Tons of info on here just use the search feature or ask.

I have a 180 main,45 slo,mix screw 2 1/2 turns out and a modi. air box. runs like a raped ape.

I like the shortshots but can't find any for a 2000 only 04 and newer anyone hear of shortshots for an older model sportster?
