Default Sundowner seat

Just put a new sundowner seat on my 2007 1200C Sportster, it does not fit as tight as the original, am I doing something wrong?

Are you sure that the keyhole slot on the underside of the seat is catching in the fender seat post? Is it the correct Sundowner seat for an 07 1200C?

My Sundowner wasn't as snug as the stocker either (1200R), but not by much. The critical points are at the front where the tounge slides in, and as cHarley stated, the center post/keyhole. It's not hard to miss the tounge in the front, nor the post. Pick up on the seat, directly in the middle, and if it comes up more than a quarter of an inch, you missed the post. Same in the front. I swap out mine with the stocker quite a bit and it almost always takes me 2 tries to get that tounge in there correctly.

The sundowner on my 05 883C didn't fit too snug when I first got it - it would rock side to side a bit with a little hand pressure but was stable when sitting on it. After the first couple of rides, the problem went away and hasn't come back - guess it just needed some adjustment time.

Mine is the same, hooks on the centre locator but does rock and move up and down a bit.
I changed the mount from the standard seat to the sundowner but it is still the same.
Must be the way they mould the base of the seat.

Yep...I agree with everything said. You have to place it on just right, and mine is not quite as tight as the stock.
