To my knowledge, Cam2 is Sunoco's 100 octane "gas" and does not contain nitro. Using anything in your scoot higher than 91-93 octane is a total waste of money, your stock compression ratio is not high enough to take advantage of the higher octane. If you do some engine work an increase the comp. ratio over 11-1, then that's a different story.

All you need is some Sta-Bil in your 91 or 93 octane gas.

higher octane burns slower not better.
the octane rateing is actually a knock rateing.
the higher the compression the faster the fuel burns, so if you run higher compression than 10:1 & you need premium or even racing fuel depending if you get Knock. If you use 87 octane ( 883's )and dont get knock on a stock motor then you dont need 91-93 premium. The extra unburned fuel will cause a rich burn condition and lower your HP and ET.
octane boost addatives often say they raise the octane 7 points but they leave out the "on 80 octane fuel"
It doesnt do squat to 93 octane.

Take what you would spend on the extra cost and buy stuff for your Sporster.

Yep, I agree with cHarley.....

Adding all that stuff to a 'stock' 1200C is nothing but a waste of money...

Just fill it up with some good 'non blended if possible' 91+ octane fuel, add some Sta-Bil, and forget about it.

FYI: In most cases, when you mix nitro into the gas, the engine will require richer jetting and retarded ignition timing. If you haven't done that since adding the nitro you're risking some serious engine damage.

Very well said, cHarley. They ought to can your post for an automatic response every time some one asks the question about octane. It comes up on here at least every three months.

Yea.....the new 883's require 91 octane. According to the manual.

My 06 jeep 'chevy pick up All can run on 87 oct and they run fine no knocks. But if I run 91-93 they run just a little stronger and I get better mpg. Back in 1966 Sunoco 260 and American white gas were the chioce of guys running hi compression stock Chevy Ford and MOPAR street machines also HD bikes my ? is what was the oct. of Sunoco 260 I think it was between 101-104. Most cars on the road back then I'm talking Hi pro. out of the box GTO, 327chevys 383-440 MOPAR were running just under 10-1 comp most were 9-1 comp. same as a 1200 sportster. Higher oct fuel has more BTU'S . I was told thats why my cars truck run a bit stronger & I get a bit better mpg.
