bout 45 in combo riding 50 is the best I've gotten

I also average about 45 mostely Los Angeles, CA freeway driving in heavy traffic. Open highway I get 50 + MPG. Below 40 is from really twisting the right hand from stop lights. I agree that 30 seems really low unless you are getting on it all of the time.

thanks everyone for your input, I guess I am running at the top of the low gears and not used to the harley when riding slow in 4th or 3rd, it doesn't seem to ride as smooth as when riding the top limit of each gear. As I said all my driving is local in town riding. Again, all your responses are great.

On my 98 Hugger I get 49 with the mix of town and country riding. Interstate I get upper 50s

I have an 05 1200C and I get 61.2 hwy & depending on how hot I am running otherwise, I get anywhere from 40-58 mpg.

I ride mostly two lane highway and get 50-55 consistently.

I also average around 45 miles per. When I first got it, it ran about 40 miles per. At 3,500 miles now. I also ride a little more agressively than you would want for good mileage. Don;t touch the throttle when you are stopped, that will help.

I have an 2007 883C fuel injection, got 50 miles per gallon today when riding highway only at constant speed. I converted the MPG from metric units (4.6 litres per 100 kilometers).
