Default scratched chrome

O.K., we've all done it. Either put hairline scratches in our chrome with our boots or by using the wrong type of polish. What really works to get rid of those fine scratches. You know the ones where they're really fine but still **** you off!

Chrome is hard.
If it is scratched, there is little that can be done.
Chrome polish will brighten up chrome that is dull from burned on dirt and can remove other goodies burned on, but otherwise, it is virtually impossible to do much more.

Yep, you can use chrome polish to brighten the chrome, but there is little you can do about 'scratches' unless you have the complete part rechromed.

But little scratches here and there are normal. About the only way to not get them is to keep your bike under glass and treat it like a trophy, instead of something meant to be ridden...

A scratch here or there just comes with the territory.

Like everyone's saying, can't do anything about scratches on chrome. The chrome being used now isn't applied as thick as they used to do itback in the day. What's on there is an extremely thin layer and it doesn't take much to rub right through it if you aren't careful.

Chrome's sort of likemarriage:

All you can do is be careful and realize you need to be prepared to live with any flaws....

Not at all. Anodes, Cathodes, a battery, a pale and some electrolyte. Stir in some science and common sense and voila, CHROME...or any other kind of plating you can think up.

I 'll be darned. I wonder why they charge so much at the shops. I am almost glad that I don't have that lab as I sit and look at the bike and think of little add ons and gadgets that I say "Well, that would work, too bad it woud be ugly..." If I could chrome it, I would never leave the garage!!!!!!
