I use abuffing wheel thats on my pedistal grinder,I have various grades of polishing compound that removes fine scratches. Its will get rid of small scratches but larger ones the best it will do is minimize them.

tried this. doesnt work so easily on chrome, and the layer is so thin youll get to the metal underneath before you fix the scratch.
