I've heard of a chain conversion for the early evo sportsters that went from belt to chain, Can't for the life of me remember who made it, haven't heard of the other way. Did you try google?

I know there is a belt conversion for the 87 1100 EVO, but unfortunateoy I cannot offer any help. I know this becuase of a bike I looked at recently. The owner had converted to a late model belt. He told me it was a kit that he bought but gave very little details.

I have an old part # from an 03 catalog40110-89 this is the part# for the secondary belt drive kit Harley used to haveit fits 86-90 4 speed sportsters. It was rather expensive $525 I have seen this kit for sale on EBAY a few times and I would bet you can find one if you shop around.
Or a simpler solution would be to get one of the newer chains that you don't have to lubricate anymore the lube is impregnated into the rollers.
I can't remember the brand I bought but I never lube the thing and it works fine, if you check out the internet you'll find it.
