I'm considering putting heat tape on my exhaust..I like the look moreso than the chrome. Have any of you done this and are there issues with the o2 sensors and the extra heat??? any suggestions?? Thanks!

RE: heat wrap on my nighty???
Heat wrap should look good. I wouldn't worry too much about O2 sensors and heat. They are made to take the heat. Think of the newer cars with the OBD-II system. They haveone O2 before and one O2 after each catalitic converter to insure emissions standards are met. Theexhaust aftera properly functioningcatalitic converter in anautomotive application is at least 100-150 degreeshotterthan it is before enteringthe converter. My point is that O2 sensors will hold up to some pretty extreme temps. You should have nothing to worry about.

Thanks everyone...I think that it'll look tough..i was mostly concerned about the extra heat tripping the sensors for some reason, making the check engine light come on.... I'm also looking into using some paint like that other guy did and blacking them out that way....
