Yes, 2" is the way to go...one 50ft roll will be plenty. I was stupid and bought two 15ft rolls. It worked fine but cost me the same amount as one 50ft roll. I bought the thermo-tec brand as well off of JCWhitney's website

Should I wrap the whole length of the pipes or just where the sheilds are??? hate the chrome...that might be where the paint comes in...or wrap them all..

That's up to you, I have very little patience for the stuff, it's a pain to get the wrap right. That being said the heatshields would be a good place to stop.

This is one of those "if you can't say anything nice..." situations. Fortunately, I never learned that lesson.

Sorry, but tape just makes bikes look like trash, low-rent, crappy band-aided junkers.

I guess some of us don't like pretty, shiney, catalouge chrome accesorised motorcycles

It's probably a "to each his own" kinda thing..................ya know

I like all bikes......even the pretty ones

Ok, not sure why you think anything I said has anything to do with bolt-on catalog chrome or "pretty", but ok.

The exhaust is easy to take off and bolt back on. A few bolts here and there, unplug the 02 sensors and you're good to go. A friend and I took off his stock exhaust and put on VH short shots on his N in less than an hour....first time doing it.

Maybe you should study more if you haven't learned that lesson.

My personal opinion is that the 1200N looks like crap with the factory chrome exhaust. It's like HD went 90% to make it look right and stick to the idea of a "factory" bobbed hotrod but at the last minute wussed out and put the chrome pipes on it. I also think dude's bike looks real kool and non cookie-cutter with that exhaust. But like the cat above said, to each his own...

The pipes are pretty easy to take off, but since you plan on reusing them take the time to remove them without damaging anything. For me, my pipes were new and I wrapped them before installation
