Default Exhaust

I'm new to forum, and new to EFI. This has probably been run into the ground, but I have looked over the site and not seen what I want. So here goes:
I have a 2008 1200L, stock. My plan / would like to do is put on Cycle Shack slip-ons. Either mxl-130ss, which is supposed to be 2-1/2”, or mxl-330 that is 3”, which Cycle Shack says, is somewhat close to the old SE II. The only other mod I plan is either a Doherty Power Pacc, or Ness Big Sucker A/C, but will do the mufflers first (money- not Bill Gates) then do the A/C later. I’m leaning towards the 2-1/2" muffler believing I’ll retain bottom-mid range with them; the 3" would probably help for top end,( is this correct logic ); which I don't run over 110 much anyway, but do ride around 60-90 (open country roads). I can get the mxl-130 from Jireh Cycle for $120, and the 330's for $200, seems best bang for the buck. Has anyone used either of these two slip ons with their EFI, if so which ones, with which A/C, and did you like them, did they work out for you. What did you do for your map; just a reflash- sert, pcIII, what did you use? Cycle Shack says they don't have map and Doherty said they don't have one either, local HD is NO help. Cycle Shack says the 130's are 7 decibels louder than the 330's and 12 decibels louder than stock. Just how much louder is 12 decibels? Is it that ear shattering /obnoxious, or is it justlike straight pipes. Thanks

Yes the logic is correct. However the most important improvement to an exhaust system is the exhaust port and headder pipes. Since you are not doing head work and using slip-ons the diameter of the exhaust is not significant.

I think stock db is ~80? Max (legal) in NH is ~106 db. The test is done at ~2500 rpm, not idle.

My bike isn't EFI, but since you haven't gotten much response, I'll chime in. I have the Cycle Shack 2.5 inch slip on mufflers. They work great. No loss in low end torque. For the money, they sound and look great. Not that there aren't other pipes that sound a little better, and/or look a liitle better, but for the money, I don't think you can beat Cycle Shacks.

Thanks for the response.
I "had" an 04 Springer Softail carb and had SC slash cuts, they looked great and sounded great. There was a smalllocal shop (no more) that dynoed it for me. Ive got a 73 Triumph 750 chopper with a tone of motor work and drag pipes, i can pretty much keep up with a 1200, and the pipes aren't that loud. As saidin the thread, this EFI is totally new to me and from all the forums i've looked at there's not much out there for exact maps except HarleySE and Vance & Hines without having to spend a "fortune" on piggy back add ons. I've talked to local HD ref. to SC and they can only guess and come maybe close. I'm not that happy with close so I finally put out this thread thinking surely someohne has used SC.
