LED arrays look like poo after a few of the individual LEDs have gone out. You can get an 1157 bulb (dual filament, socket style) for your tail lightall over the World and they're cheap. You can even carry one in an old film canister if you want.Plus, I've only had two go out in 55,000 miles.
Just my $.02.

I have a side drop LED tail light, no problems and its extremely bright even during the day and from different angles. Actually from 12ft in back of the bike its blinding. All LED lights are NOT created equal. You may also need a load balancer and should ask about that before ordering. Also, these lights are mounted to a board...which means...burnout=no replacement.

This is how it looks on my 1200S. I think it looks great on black and it is bright viewed from behind, but nothing from the side.
