Default battery terminal

I know this is probably a dumb newbie question, but does anyone have a trick to remove the tightening bolt on the negative battery terminal of my sporty? I would like to hook my quick coupler for the battery tender up but I be darned if I can find a way to fit a wrench in there. The frame is in the way of my socket and I can't seem to find room for a box end either. I hate to have to take my seat off and hook the regular clamps on the battery every time I finish riding. Any help out there?

If it is an 04 or newer you disconnect the negative from the top rear of the tranny. There is a small stud that the negative is connected to.

Don't fully remove the battery if yer just using the quick tender, unhook the positve cable, put the positive of the battery tender on the terminal. The negative can go to any stude, bolt ar metsal on the frame to get a decent ground.

To remove the bettery, I don't know about the 95 - if thats the easiest way to get to the bolts then that would be the method - removing the battery altogether requires the removal of the neg cable while still attached to the battery - a bit of a trick the first go round.

As a not to anyone who has to do this, double check the neg cable routing after reinstalling, its real easy to get to close to the belt drive and chafe the cable.

i use a long phillips screw driver, but it sucks that i dont feel confident about tightness, although it has never came loose on me. others are right though, you dont have to connect the tender to the terminal.
