Some Sportsters are flat out badass!

Agreed. I think OFG's bike is about the best looking one on the site. I don't know what it is, but there's just something about those chrome extended forks that really does it for me.
I've got other stuff to do to mine yet (new seat, grips, and pegs, plus maybe a bobtail) but I would seriously consider putting those forks on my bike.

The rubber mount/big tank customs are like the 21st century FXR's; but I like the classic look of the "peanut tank" ones. Would really like to "do" and 88" 883R.....like the looks of the nightster.....stuck with my 103 FXDXT for now.....sure do miss my 100hp Sporty, especially when people say things like "Did you restore it yourself?" thinking it was an older bike. And the look on the metric cruiser riders faces when they caught up to me after I stopped to wait for them.....

Guess I'm old fashion... I like the peanut tank, mid controls, spoke wheels, and roadster type front wheel...
The custom, to me looks like a Sportsters with a mo-ped front wheel... Just an opnion... Wide glide fits same catagory as to me it looks like a dyna with flh front end and mo-ped front wheel..
In other words the front ends look too light for the bike... but that's just my opnions..
My bike is old school just plain Sportster with spoke wheels... It's a runner that has proven itself off the line and topend on the newer sportster models... and for some reason, it sticks to the twisties better then my riding partners.
My bike is upgraded from an 883 to 1200 with drags and carb kit and breather and I'll put it up against any "stock" 1200... off the line and top end.
I like all sportsters, some better then others but can't help but feel that the old school pre-2000 models were some of Harley's secret power-house machines with potential that the new breeds seem to lack...
Yes the newer bikes are great looking machines, stock out of the Harley womb but all that new chrome, wider rear wheel and larger tank with the new electronics etc. may have cost some basic performance issues.... Again, just my opnion.
