Hoping somebody can shed some light on this for me as I am not the brightest one......

The sister is looking for a XL883 and found a bike at the attached link. I have been looking around a 'lil and this DEFINETELY sounds to good to true.

I'm not too far from there, but I wouldn't scoop you on the deal if you are going for it. If not, please let me know and I will see if I can confirm the price and then scrape up the cash.

 

who knows... they may be 'motivated sellers' (a real-estate term for "going thru divorce, bankruptcy, satisfying the loan-shark", etc). Call them and ask a lot of questions, and if its close enough to go look then go. Take the cash with you.

That is a dirt cheap deal though, so I'd go for it if it ran good at all and didn't seem to have any problems. Of course, just make sure title is in-hand.... etc.

I emailed the seller too, waiting to see if it is still available. I don't really want or need it, but for the price it would make good trade-in value or maybe I could patiently sell it myself.

 

Never know with people was talking to my buddy last night at work and he told me about his dads friend bought a like new chopper new style fancy one for $5,800 bucks out of Kentucky on ebay. Turns out the guy had money didn't really care what he got out of it just didn't want it anymore and thing had under 1,000 miles on it and was only like 2yrs old insane bike is easily a 30k bike new. Guy had no reserve and my buddies friend got in the last bid picked it up and he was amazed that everything checked out.

 

If it's to good to be true, it usually is.

 

Ah, but that's the trick you see; how do you know if its too good to be true unless you check it out? If it is, it is. If its legit.... damn. Every rule has an exception.

 

If I was in the area I would be checking it out myself. You just have to be careful and make sure everything is legit. Killer deals are out there!

 

I would ask about the title on it. $2900 is about where a Salvage title would be priced.

 

I'm sure the rest of the story is that the owner is in Germany (really Nigeria) and will need you to wire the funds over and he will ship you the bike as I is located in New York in storage. This is a common scam on Ebay and Cycle Trader. The bike is too cheap. For $2900 he did not even need to place an ad. Scam!!!
