RE: OCC Pics 1_2006
in a sense---------a real bike should be able to be ridden daily. it should handle well and ride well enoughg to ride for several miles at a time.
there are works of art, there are functional bikes, and there are functional bikes that are works of art. the last one is where they miss the boat. JMHO

I guess I don't know what you mean by that. I mean are you trying to say they don't make real bikes?

I think a lot of vitriol gets aimed at the TV personalities because of their success, and the fact that the success stems more from their TV exposure than from their success as builders. Understandable, to an extent. I don't begrudge them their success, though, and they don't tout those bikes as daily riders. Furthermore, I believe that the more mainstream motorcycling becomes, the more popular the idea, the more desire in the general populace to participate in some fashion, the better off we are. It's less likely we'll be taken advantage of politically or legally by the majority if a significant fraction of that majority enjoys and identifys with some aspect of motorcycling. I don't adhere to the notion that there's 2 bikers and 8 posers for every 10 motorcycles. That way lies obsolescence.
By the way, my favorite OCC is probably the POW/MIA bike.
JKDJose, did the kids get a kick out of the trip? Seems like that would be a lot of fun to take kids to see.
Enjoy the ride.
