Oh god... Please don't lol... Well, if you must... then how about this...to maintain the bobber look...

Not sure how you'd mount it up on the sporty because of the exposed suspension. One of the members on here Jackel, had one on his Night Train. It was mounted to his swingarm and looked awesome on the bike. So if you could figure out a place to mount it on the Nightster it would look great.
That's a good point sleep... I didn't think about that... Hmmm.... I'm going to have to give this one some thought.

Here's a thought...

I used these from this guy on ebay... He does all the fab work himself, maybe he could do a one off that would fit the shape of this bag....

I didn't have to relocate anything. My sig pic shows the bags I am currently running on my Nightster. They were a set of bags bought some time ago for my husbands old bike. Also, a shameless plug here ... my hubby makes leather throw-over bags and is currently running a set of semi-soft leather bags that looked GREAT on my Nightster when we tried them on for size. Here's the link in case you are interested ! ...

They are an auction item, not a buy now. His website is www.cellardwellerleathers.com.
If for some reason the link to his site doesn't work properly ... try typing in the address in your browser.

EDITED 8/22/08 - Sig pic now shows my Nighster with those bags my hubby made that he decided to give to me :-)

I know it's a matter of personal taste but standard bags and a Nightster just don't go together. IMHO

I actually happen to agree. But since I need to have somewhere to put things beyond what will fit in my pocket, and more than will fit in a tank bag, let's say .. then saddlebags were what I needed to go with. Even though I have standard brackets, they CAN be removed without a HECK of a lot of trouble.

I also hate the thought of putting a windshield on my Nighster either .. but am going to be ordering one this spring in particular for a long road trip that will have a lot of highway miles. At least it will be detachable.

Putting saddlebags on a Nightster is like putting abag over a gorgeous womens head.
Wear a back pack but leave the Nightster alone, the bike should be enough to keep you from looking like a dork.

That's why I have a 1200 C and not the Nightster. Bags, windshield, sissy bar, it all works.

Those are nice looking bags HDK, I think they would look good on my scoot because of the red flames on my seat and the coil and wires would match. Bags aint that bad IMO as long as they dont overpower the bike, thats whenthe bikeloses its lines and form...

~~~Jag1886~~~~ There is a need for a place to carry stuff on a bike or you will take the cage to the store or to work because of it.
In other words you will ride less...
And you WILL look like a dork with a backpack, you might as well tote a power ranger lunch box while you are at it...
All that purist crap is just.... well crap.
Found this on the website... Only bag I would even consider.
