Thanks. That's certainly good advice, but it's difficult to determine how easy to handle a bike will be without actually riding it. How does placement of foot controls affect this? (Sorry for all the stupid questions.)

mid controls will probably feel more natural to you insteadof forward.....and will give you better control over the bike

Also if you go with the roadster..and still touch the ground comfortably(for you.....noone else..you have to be comfrotable..)

The addition seat height between the seat and pegs will make the bike a bit more comfortable(forme anyways..especially with my feet ont he pegs..I dont feel cramped this way)..and a bit more "standard-y"...(yes I made that word up)

I also started riding on dirtbikes thoguh..so i guess I gravitate towards similar riding positions...

Hi, 5'4" tall here and the 1200C fits me nice. It's about 200 lbs lighter than My last bike so to Me it's nice and nimble to ride. No trouble in boots and I don't ride in tennis shoes either LOL ! Like stated previouslycheck out the real deal at The Dealers and see what fits.............WVleo

Thanks to everyone for all yourhelp. It is MUCH appreciated.

After reading all the comments and checking the reviews, I'm leaning toward the Nightster -- something I hadn't even considered before -- but I'll definitely check 'em all out at a dealer.

You can lower any bike so get what appeals most to you. Good Luck!

I would go sit on them, anything else is just speculation.

I'm 5'5", and about 140 pounds. I have limited experience, riding nothing above 500cc, and haven't ridden for a few years.

I've got the bug again, and I'm ready for a better bike.

Would I be better off with an 883L than an 883C, or would it make any difference?

Many thanks.
