On my 06 1200-C I find it hard to get a hold of the gas cap, with that cool looking tank trim around it. Any one of you notice this? I would like to get a cap that will still look good, but stick up a bit higher, so I could get a hold on it better.
Anybody have a cool looking fix for this...
Thanks.
Your hand/fingers will be alot stickier if you leave your leather gloves on to loosen it. I find that leather gloves makes opening the oil dip stick alot easier too.
Yes they are a bit difficult to take off. The techniques described above work for me, although it can take 2 or 3 attempts. As has been said, preferably with a glove still on, push the palm of your hand down on the top of the fuel cap and turn.
I believe there are replacement designs available. Im not sure if there is a key operated one, but if so, that might be the answer if you still have great difficulty.
yeah those flush capsare a pain in the butt - you have to have just the right touch for it to pop up out of the trim. I keep my glove on, for better traction on it. Still, somtimes it comes right up but other times it fights me for several minutes....

As long as they are not the Gay A$$ Fingerless gloves....[8D]
Glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I have Glove's on most of the time.
But sometimes when it's really hot out, I dont.
I will look for a cap design that will be easier to work with, and still look good.
