EFI questions
My ride is a 2003 so I don't need any of this but I was still wondering.Ijust read the article in the new Enthusiast mag. about Harley trained techs. It says that if you install a street legal engine kit such as Stage 1 or Big bore kit you will most likely need EFI recalibration. That I already knew but what I didn't know was that it says only a Harley tech can do the recalibration with there Digital Technition II computer. It says other shops say they can do the recalibration, but they can't.I know alot of you have had this done.I was wondering if Harley was lying in this article saying they are the only ones who can do it.I'm pretty sure some of you have done this yourself or had an Indy do it for you. I know the mag is a Harley production, but to out right lie is kinda lame if you ask me.

RE: EFI questions
To download a new map, maybe Harley and their system that interfaces directly with the computer is the only way to do it. But as soon as you start talking about something that plugs into the harness to intercept the signals it is receiving and recalibrate the output, I would think any Indy could do it. Most of them just plug into a computer to make the adjustments. If it is a dyno tune, they can read how rich/lean you are running and make the proper adjustments on the box. This would include the SERT as well a a few other products on the market.
