You want a Harley Huh? Harley makes a lot of styles and as long as your not looking for a croth rocket there should be one for you, and if you like the croth rocket style, I here the Buel's can really crank out some speed. The most improtant thing is that you get one that will fit you, both for performance and comfort. I think that a lot of guys buy bikes to try and fit into a certain image, not what they will enjoy, and I alos think that this is the reason you will find a lot of bikes for sale that are a couple of years old only 1000 to 1500 mile on them. You also have to stay in your budget, so that when it's too cold to ride, you don't hate to make the monthley payment.

For myself I bought a 1200 custom last July, and now have over 18000 miles of smiles on it. I'm 6' 200 lbs and the bike fits me perfectly, handles with ease, looks great, and has plenty of power. For Mother's Day I bought my wife an 883L. At 5'7" its just right for her, she felt that the 1200L was still a little too top-heavy for her, but she felt very comfortable on the 883L. Now she mostly makes weekend rides, but has still put over 1500 mile on her bike, and like me she does a lot of smiling while on it. I rode it to work one day and never thought about it being a girls bike, however at 6' I would enjoy it more if it were equiped with forward controlls, due to a bad knee I have.

Another little smile she got a couple of days back, my son has a 500 Ninja and pulled beside her goosing it a couple of times so she got on it pretty good for about 200 yds and actualy pulled away from him as he shifted gears. But as for it being a girls bike I just don't buy it, maybe a bike for the Vertically Challenged would be a better description.

Yes, I am a new member, been searching this site for hours.

I purchased the 883, 05 model in August of last year. Have 2900 miles on it. It was the first bike I had ridden in YEARS.

Husband purchased a 1200Custom. I feel that the bike is too heavy, motor to high, bars can be adjusted? Lowered.

Seems that my bike is to heavy and harder to handle, whereas 1200 seems a lot easier to handle and not as front-end heavy? Tall

What can I do to possibly make the front not so heavy and high? Easier to handle, without spending a fortune, and making sure it is safe?

IMO, i like the low, my g/f just bought 1 & i ride it often, she just got her license, i'm 6'0" & i ride it comfortably. if i bought a sporty, 1 of the 1st things i'd do is lower it anyway, so if ya like it buy it....
