Default '86 Sporty gas tank leak

Hey guys, I've noticed for a couple of weeks that my basement really smells like gas. I noticed on the motor that gas was leaking from somewhere. I took off my seat and the tank to get a better look and it's the tank. I have a custom tank on the bike (don't know how old it is). It's leaking from the two corners closest to the seat. I went to the local HD dealer and bought a kit of KREEM. It came with the prep, conditioner and sealer. When I got to looking at the tank, the inside was white, like it had been done before. Should I buy a new tank, or just clean mine and reapply the sealer inside? I haven't ridden since I found the leak, and It's driving me crazy. Thanks guys

Kreem works good only if it is done correct. The problem is when most guys do it they over coat the tanks. You need to coat the tanks and then pour out the excess not leaving it in, when there is to much it lifts up and there is the leak again. You can try doing it again, read the instructions, protect your paint by using masking and duct tape and let the first step stay in your tank for about 3 days. READ THE INSTRUCTION!!! Let me know if you have more questions about this.
